Collaborative work on analysing historical deforestation

Hi everyone, 

During the 5th Steering Committee Meeting of the REDD+ for the Guiana Shield project, it has been decided that – in order to confirm the capacity building process and in order to improve the quality of the study itself - the Regional Study 1 on Methods and Tools to Analyze Historical Deforestation would be finalized in a participatory way.

Methods and tools developed in the framework of this study have been shared with countries’ partners during the 5th Working Group Meeting, held in Cayenne from May 4th to May 7th. During this meeting, first draft of the Regional Study was presented and participants have been trained on how to use the tools. At the end of the WGM5, participants were able to implement a first analysis on study sites. In order to facilitate interactions among authors, this discuss group has been created. This will soon include all preliminary instructions and could be used by each participant to the study as a support for technical discussions and for sharing results.
